SLAP HER SHE'S FRENCH and PROZAC NATION

Does anybody have any idea what's going on with these films? PN looks really good and SHSF sounds funny. I remember seeing sit down press interviews iwth the actors of both movies that aired on local news entertainment segments. I know they're delayed but will they ever be released? And why are they delayed?

"Prozac Nation" is allegedly not very good, and Miramax is just sitting on it. Why this would prevent them from just releasing it to video, I don't know...

Wow! I saw the first trailer for Slap Her, She's French so long ago I thought I missed it theatrically and it was on video and I just couldn't find a copy of it anywhere!

Why has it been delayed so long?

Was that the one with Piper Pearabo that involved cheerleading? If so, I saw the first preview for that in August of 2002 with My Big Fat Greek Wedding! I figured it had just gone straight to video.

Slap Her She's French's distributor went bankrupt the EXACT weekend it was to release the movie in theaters! How's that for suckage. The movie was released in pretty much every country except the US.

Piper Parabo even went on Carson Daly's late night talk show and they announced it was coming out "This Friday"...about the third week in September of 2002.

The FRENCH distributor was fairly optimistic that their film would come out. They set many dates hoping to catch fire, but it never happened. If you have to see it, import DVDs are everywhere.

As for PROZAC, I wouldn’t wish that POS on my worst enemy. What a lousy movie, but hey, IMO, Ricci is one of the worst actresses working today.

Miramax has this habit of sitting on movies. We all know this. But I believe they’re just waiting for Ricci to score a hit so they can piggyback off that. Again, if you have to see it, import DVDs are everywhere.

Elizabeth Wurtzel’s unsightly comments about 9/11 didn’t help the film either.

Slap Her, She's French is only available on a PAL R2 DVD from the UK. You can get it from www.amazon.co.uk

I saw the movie 2 years ago (from kazaa, just somebody holding a camera in a german cinema) and it was great! I enjoyed the movie a lot. I've been tempted to buy the R2 dvd, but the fact that it is PAL really turns me off.

Miramax is, as others have said, sitting on Prozac Nation here, but it is available on dvds from many other countries.

Yup. It's sad that the Premiere Marketing and Distribution Group believed that they would set cinema screens across the country on fire with a decent Piper Perabo movie and some tits and ass teenage comedy entitled Who's Your Daddy?... and as of today, both films, completed and all, are sitting on the shelves here in America...

I always thought Lions Gate would've picked both films up, but I don't predict a release for those two films anytime soon...

Prozac Nation's not bad, just not great either. Nice to see Christina as a star.
The Japanese DVD's pq was a tad disappointing, I thought. Probably because it's been sitting on a shelf for years...

And yes, she's naked. Right at the start! It's as if they knew the only reason many people would rent the film, and decided to save them time. Heh.

While they aren't lost, I remember seeing previews for both Godsend and I think 13th Warrior (when it was Eaters of the Dead) for about a full year before their eventual release. Not teasers, but something indicating a finished product.

Yeah, I remember the Eaters of the Dead ads. Funny thing, when the trailers used new The 13th Warrior title, they still listed Grame Revell as the composer rather than Jerry Goldsmith. (Revell's score was rejected by Crichton when he re-edited the movie and re-shot some scenes.) Check out the trailer on the R1 DVD and you'll see what I mean.

I actually thought, for some reason, that Slap Her, She's French and Serving Sara (or "Servicing Sara" as it was known early on) were the same movie.

I guess it's because they were both filmed (at least partially) locally at roughly the same time.

I think you are thinking of a movie called Cheats, with Matthew Lawrence, Maggie Lawson, and Mary Tyler Moore. This movie is out on DVD, and it's not the same as Cheaters. I've seen, it's not a bad little flick. It was a fun watch. It's available from New Line on DVD.

Here's some info from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...211419-0570242

Actually, Cheaters was supposed to come out in theaters, but never did. They changed the title to "Cheats", and released it on video. I remember seeing the trailer in the theaters on more than one occasion.

Looks like Slap Her She's French will be airing on ABC Family on January 9th and they have changed the title to "She Gets What She Wants".

They don't, apparently.
