Your top three favorite movie scenes (for now)

Im sure this has been brought up before, but hell, have a go at it again. This maybe impossible for some ppl, but give her a shot. Here's mine (for now):

1. True Romance - Walken and Hopper scene (is this a "shallow" pick??).
2. Apocolypse Now - Ride Of The Valkyries invasion scene. (I can't believe how good this looks and sounds today)
3. The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly - The Trio scene at the end.

Come on, do yer best. And plz no 12 way ties or anything. TRY TO KEEP IT TO ONLY THREE.

I like that you've specified 'for now', since I imagine anyone's list of "The Best _____" is constantly evolving.

For me, right this second:

1: The choas of the newsroom at the beginning of Dawn of the Dead.
Greatest opening of a movie ever.

2: Luke's final battle with Darth Vadar at the end of Return of the Jedi.
I watched that again tonight, and it still makes me shiver.

3: The murder of Don Fanucci in Godfather II. For a killing taking place
in a dirty, dingy slum, it is elegant and tricks me into thinking it is beautiful.

Whenever I am really drunk I will always throw on certain parts of a movie, just to watch some of the awesome scenes.

1. My all time favorite is the scene in True Romance with Christian Slater and Gary Oldman. That is one tough scene. Drexel is a badass.

Lately I have been throwing in the Kill Bill movies.

2. House of Blue Leaves scene from Vol. 1.

3. Vol. 2 when The Bride walks into Bill's House. From there to the ending of the movie is great.

I'll go with an obvious one, the Alec Baldwin scene in Glengarry Glen Ross.

The final tournament in The Karate Kid.

Scrooge's awakening in A Christmas Carol. Heck, almost any version.

These come to mind immediately. I'm sure I could name fifty more in less than ten minutes.

The drug dealer/firecracker scene in Boogie Nights.

Anything in space in 2001, if only for the lack of silly sound effects.

The scene in Rules of the Game where Robert and Marceau talk about their problems with women and Robert straightens Marceau's tie. The very definition of sublime.

The opening scene in Werckmeister Harmonies, where János explains the workings of the solar system to the tavern full of drunks.

The final scene in Au Hasard Bathazar, where Balthazar lays down in the field with the flock of sheep.

Delicatessen - I think the the bed spring / pumping the bicycle tire / ceiling painting / cello playing girl / cow moo sound machine repeat which increased in tempo was hilarious. It is a scene that sticks out in my mind everytime I think about a spectacular scene.

Cheers

ROTJ - The Emporer's arrival

The Third Man - Introduction of Harry Lime

Sullivan's Travels - Prisoners marching into the church to watch the cartoons while the congregation sings "Let My People Go"

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly - Yeah. As much as I wanted to come up with something different, I just can't exclude The Trio shootout at the end. Great scene.

Great one

The black out scene in Silence of the Lambs where he's stalking her with night vision. Tight.

When a Stranger Calls ... the scene where the operator explains that the phone call is coming from inside the house. (I was ten, I nearly crapped myself). Good Stuff.

"Say hello to my little friend..." What more do I need to say? Scarface

Pulp fiction The needle scene. When he stabber her I nearly pissed myself laughing.

Some additional candy....

The first coliseum scene in Gladiator that finishes with him revealing to the new emperor he's still alive. Whole friggin movie is great.

Guilty pleasure...

Episode IV Bumping into the sith. Great scene. Great Choreography. Some redemption for an otherwise flat movie.

1. Office Space and the death of the fax machine. Michael Bolton mounting the fax and punching it is the coup de grace.

2. Green Mile death of John Coffey. One of the saddest scenes in film ever, from a great movie.

3. The entire Duloc scene in Shrek. The turnstyle! The Giant Farquad Head costume! The Song! Oh, the song! Please keep off of the grass, shine your shoes, wipe your........face!
