Hello All,
I Just got to college and decided its time for a new TV to go with my entertainment system. I want a Flat screen TV because they are nice and now some what affordable. I want a reliable tv, screen size 27"-35", and in the price range of $300-400. Thanks in Advance

With your price range you're looking more at the 27" sets than the 35". Try and get a brand name, make sure it has anamorphic squeeze/16:9 enhanced mode and you'll do good.

I think the Sony Wega is just out of your price range, but their should be some Toshiba, JVC and Sharps that are right in the ballpark. Enjoy.

About 3 months ago I bought a Panasonic flat screen 27" from Circuit City for $349.00, and I'm completely satisfied with the purchase.

I picked up a Philips 27 inch 27DV693R TV about a month ago, flatscreen, built in progressive scan DVD player,20 watt built in audio system with lots of bells and whistles......got mine on clearance from Sears and it's a SUPER set. I had intended to pick up a same size Sony but the price difference was substantial enough to sway me. If there is one qualm with it I have, it was getting the picture JUST the way I wanted it...after tweaking a few weeks and finally doing so its been a splendid TV I would recommend to anyone on a budget. I do most of my movie watching in my computer room, so I've already spent many enjoyable hours with this one, which replaced a 20 inch Sony I loved as well....just wanted bigger. When I began searching for a 27 inch, my first choices were a Sony or a Panasonic but after buying this one I would keep my mind open to a Philips set as well.
