Does the Onkyo 502 upcovert through component?

I'll be running my new ReplyTV through s-video into my receiver. I'm curious if I have to also run a s-video back into my tv or if it will upconver the signal through the component (which is hooked into the video in now).

A noobie question Josh,

What's the advantage of upconverting the video? Thanks.

There is no picture quality improvement (that I know of), but it allows you to just have the one set of cables going to the TV.

Josh - no it doesn't. Only a few very expensive receivers do that (H/K, Denon high end models). My Onkyo SR601 does cross-convert composite and s-vid back and forth, though. Convenient.
