I'm seriously considering this one too...

I've never pre-ordered a game before - but damn, that's a good price!

check your credit cards, I got in on this earlier and they charged me $49.99 even though the email confirmation says $34.99

I emailed them about it - but I'm starting to think it might not be worth the trouble.

I had a similar nightmare with Gamestop a couple of weeks ago and was overcharged by about $50 during their buy one get one free deal. Of course, it's my problem when it comes to getting their billing straight... jeez

Well - they're not supposed to charge until the item is shipped, correct?

So I imagine if I am charged, I shouldn't have much of a problem getting the charge cancelled.

AFAIK it's perfectly legal in the U.S. to charge before an item is actually shipped. Most e-tailers don't do it because it raises various obtuse legal issues I don't really understand, but I don't think there's anything preventing them from doing so if they wish. But obviously if they're advertising one price and charging another, then yeah, they should be obliged to cancel it or give you the advertised price.
