My first country concert tonight...
Well, went to Toby Keith's Throwdown concert tonight at Staples (gf is a country girl), and I have to say it was a lot better than I thought.
Teri Clark opened and she is a thing of beauty.
As far as Toby Keith, he puts on a great show.
Also, Merle Haggard came out for 2 songs, and Jerry Lee Lewis came out and played Great Balls of Fire. That was defintely the highlight of the night. He was absolutely tearing up that keyboard; amazed how he can still play.
The worst part of the night; the tortilla chips with the nachos were rather stale.

A few years ago I went to see Dwight Yoakam at a place called Cowboys outside Atlanta. What an experience. Dwight was awesome, but I've never felt so out of place in my life. "Urban Cowboy" to the extreme. I remember thinking I would have felt more at home at a rap concert and that's saying a lot.

I usually like, well favorite concerts of the past, have been:
Pearl Jam (20 + times)
Bruce Springsteen
Phish
Rage Against The Machine
Primus
etc etc
But I like all kinds of music and
Toby Keith, Tim Mcgraw, and Kenny Chesney all can put on a great show.

I saw Hank III play once. Wouldn't really call that a country show, though.

I also went to a country concert this weekend. It was in KC and called Yallapalooza(wonder if they contacted P. Ferrell for permission on that name).
Anyway, nothing funnier than a bunch of upper class cowboys from suburbia. I think I saw about 3 people that looked like they may have been on a farm in their life. By the way, I was the city bow in shorts, t-shirt, and tennis-shoes trying not to laugh out loud.
