R1 DVD Sound

I have a multi-regional home theatre system but never tried other regions expect R4. Is it true that sequence of sound will be disturbed even if you converted PAL to NTSC in the options?

The sound and picture should match up smoothly. The issue, as I understand it, is that converting PAL to NTSC means an approximate 4% speed increase in frame and audio rates. Apparently this is distracting to some people, but I've never noticed it.

the 4% speed-up actually occurs when film (24fps) is transferred to pal video (25fps). any pal dvd, including R4, will be sped up.

Hey guys,

How about converting NTSC to PAL? Any problems to be expected? Recommendation of a good dvd player (must be multi region also) which converts flawlessly.
