what a blast...
great show, despite the absence of '...Yoko Ono'.

I was even won over by Alanis Morissette, who I had only paid casual attention to in the past. Came away with a whole new appreciation for her....

Alanis came on about 7:10 and played until almost 8:30.
BNL came on aroun 8:50 and went until between 10:15 and 10:30.

I passed on their show this summer because I'm not much of an Alanis fan and didn't want to pay that much to hear a shorter set. After they came to town I found out that Nellie McKay opened for them and now I wish I would've gone. How was she?

I had read a few articles about her, and so I was pretty curious to see her perform. She has a fairly unique voice, and her tunes had a kind of Tori Amos feel to them - full of lots of long-winded and chatty lyrics.
Based on her performance - which sadly seemed to have been largely ignored by the crowd - I'm intrigued enough to check out her CD.
We were going strictly for BNL, and I have to say the Alanis set really impressed me. Plus, we went for the $15 lawn seats and sat dead center at the very bottom of the lawn area. Great show...
