What are some good scary horror/thriller/scifi movies?

I'm trying to get into horror/thriller films and I don't really like the slasher ones. What are some good horrors that are more like jaws and alien then like scream?

I liked jaws, alien, signs, silence of the lambs(well the ending), dawn of the dead(the original), se7en, jurassic park, 28 days later.

I didn't like the others, scream, blair witch, mimic, dawn of the dead remake, resident evil, etc.

And other then psycho and the shinning. I already know about those two. And I know who the killer is in psycho so I think it ruins the movie.

...yeah, another unfortunate case of double-dipping, since the commentaries are different...
