40's Batman movie

I swore i heard and saw shots of a Batman movie made in the 1940's, where can i find more information on this?

Batman was "Serialized" back then. You know those short cliffhanger action flicks shown at the theaters back in those days? I don't think there was ever a feature length movie from back then but you could always check imdb.com.

Here's the 1940's Batman costume.....

They sell t-shirts with the retro batman logo (pictured above) in some comic shops.

Is it possible you're thinking of this?

A few months ago there was an internet rumor (hey, if it's on the internet, it's got to be true, right?) that none other than ORSEN WELLS was interested in directing a Batman movie in the 40s, and even wrote a script. It turned out to be a hoax though.
