Was watching "Sexy Beast" last week. Awesome movie that starts out with the Stranglers "Peaches" song. Totally fits the mood of this movie. Got me to thinking of how this can flat out work when done correctly.... like the 1983 movie "The Hunger" starting out with Bauhaus' "Bela Legosi's Dead".

Love Spit Love - "Am I Wrong" from the beginning of Angus.

The beginning of Resevoir Dogs when they're walking out of the restaurant.

Miserlou set the tone for Pulp Fiction perfectly. Same with "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)" from Kill Bill.

Tarantino sure knows how to pick songs from movies. I might argue that "Across 110th St." from Jackie Brown wasn't a strong start, but the song still rocks.

I love how the marching band was incorporated into the song. It sounds kind of cheesy, but it really works in this movie.

I've always thought that Nine Inch Nails' "Closer" was a good choice for the opening credits of "Se7en."

I know! Most people I know who would normally think that kind of thing was cheesy really liked it, too.

I always thought "Die Hard: With A Vengence" starting out with "Summer In The City" was a great opener.
Just as you get into the groove of the song and let your guard down - WHAM!!

shrek 2 is going to start with counting crows "accidentally in love". it's a fun new song.

While not a classic movie by any means, the credit sequence for 2004's Dawn of the Dead used Johnny Cash's "When the Man Comes Around" very effectively.

I'm not a big fan of Vanilla Sky, but the opening is great, thanks to "Everything in Its Right Place."
