Favorite Manic Street Preachers Album

Manic Street Preachers are easily among my top 5 favorite artists ever, and have been very consistent over the course of six albums, redefining their sound successfully even after the disappearance of their rhythm guitarist/lyricist Richey James Edwards over 9 years ago. It's a tough call on this one, as I think all of their albums are fantastic (although "Gold Against the Soul" is somewhat weak). "Generation Terrorists" (the UK version, not the butchered US releases) still rocks harder than just about any other album I own. I will have to select "This is My Truth Tell Me Yours" as my favorite, though, narrowly edging out "Everything Must Go." "The Holy Bible" is still their best album, IMO, but not my favorite, as it becomes numbing to listen to with repeat listens.

Favorite: Everything Must Go
Best: Holy Bible, but listening to it is like watching Schindler's List, not something you want to do every day.

Like Hiro11, my favorite is Everything Must Go, although The Holy Bible is quite probably their best, but a very difficult listen. I also very much like TIMTTMY, and the song "If We Tolerate This..." is possibly my favorite Manics song.

One of the reasons I like Everything Must Go so much is that it's so wonderful to see the band put out such a great, hopeful album under such horrible circumstances. I'm glad we've got a Manics thread going. I don't know any other fans personally, so I never get to talk with anyone about what is probably my favorite band.

another vote for 'Everything Must Go' - these guys are amazing live. I have seen them around three times - once when were the lineup and opener for Oasis in the states, Headliner at Reading Music Festival and V2002 in England. The V show was great as everyone was singing along ('Tsunami' )

'The Holy Bible' almost strictly because of "Faster" and "She is Suffering." Those are two of my favorite songs. I listened to 'The Holy Bible' during my difficult teenage years, so it has a place in my heart. Since then, the only album I have heard from them in its entirety is 'Everything Must Go,' which is a great album.
