I'm sorry, but while they may be great characters, Gollum, and Jeff Spicoli beating Atticus Finch and Charles Foster Kane seems like an insult. Also, was Dil even on screen in to kill a mockingbird?

I got the issue a couple of weeks ago, but I haven't been able to get past the cover photo of Rebecca Romijn as Bonnie Parker

Looking over this list, a few things surprised me.
First, Gordon Gekko from Wall Street is amazingly high up there. It's a good role, but I'd say it's a better performance than a character. I'm surprised he made the list at all.
Secondly, Frank Booth and Hannibal Lecter are both far too low. Lecter should be in the top 5. Frank Booth in the top 20 or at least the top 30.

Speaking of Frank Booth, I watched Blue Velvet for the first time this past week and felt Hopper should have had more screen time. That was a great character for him that didn't seem utilized enough. Didn't know anything about the guy except he was a raving psycho, or what his original reasons were for his actions. Though, I guess one can draw their own conclusion.

But if you get Jaws, I get Dracula and Frankenstein.

These lists are always so meaningless because they come from magazines run by 20-somethings with no sense of history. The fact that they chose Vito instead of Michael as number one prooves that they have no idea what The Godfather movies were all about.
