More "Bewitched" casting news

Shirley MacLaine and Michael Caine are in discussions to play Endora and Maurice. Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell are already on board to play Samantha and Darren. I've always said I thought MacLaine would be perfect. I never thought about Michael Caine. He's also perfect for the part and will definitely bring some class to the film. Here's hoping Kevin Spacy or that guy from Kids in the Hall will play Uncle Arthur. That would be a riot. And Edie Maclure as Gladys Kravitz.

I like the casting too. But, seeing as this is a comedy...it is nice to see such high caliber actors in there, but fortunately we've got Ferrell too, cause I can't say I know those others really make me laugh. Hopefully Nicole is funny...

But in the original show Sam was never all that funny. However the characters around her were the real source of fun.

For some reason, I picture Jim Carrey as Darren Stevens more than Will Ferrell.

Me too. And I read somewhere a while back that he was considered. I'm not sure he was approached or not. But he would have been perfect, that's for sure. However, I'd be afraid it would turn into a "Jim Carrey movie". Other good choices IMO, if we're going for actors who slightly resemble either Darren: Bruce Campbell or Colin Farrell. Although Colin is nine years younger than Nicole.

I thought the exact same thing, as long as he didn't do his "schtick". And Nicole Kidman will make a great Samantha.

The cool thing is they can switch Darrens mid-movie and no one would care.

Dick Sargeant just was too even tempered. I liked Dick York flying off the handle like a man out of control.

I hope "Serena" is in the movie and she performs one of her groovy music numbers like "Blow you a kiss in the wind"

And for the Tabitha movie...

She sort of reminds me of Lisa Hartman.
