Question: Who was the actor that stupidly off'ed himeself?

I'm getting old and cant rememeber but about 15-20 years ago an actor during a TV/movie filming took a handgun that was loaded with blanks, stuck it too his head and fired.

What he thought he was doing was funny, but he either forgot or didn't know about the paper wadding inside the blank cartridge.

It went into his skull and about three days later, while in a coma, he died.

What was his name?

He was joking on set and put a gun -with blanks- up to his temple and fired. Well the wadding used in blank guns is no problem from a distance but up against his temple it had enough force to kill him.

He was about to become a big star.....

Damn, I feel sorry for the guy. I passed away WAY before his intended departure from this world...
Sad, sad, sad...

Oh no, the mere mention of his name makes me sad. He was one of my first crushes, at a very, very young age, and then POOF this happened. I feel so very sad for him.

He was a big-time footballer at Michigan State. He died about the time that I went there.

It was pretty shocking to me, I think I was in 6th grade when this happened. Voyagers was one of my favorite shows when I was a kid, so I remember him well. Damn, I always wanted an Omni!

Ahh, the loaded with blanks problem. Ask Brandon Lee about that one.
