Who is the coolest leading character you've seen?

I was taken recently watching La Dolce Vita, and thinking back to 8 1/2 looking at Marcello Mastrionaimi(sp) thinking "Damn this guy is cool!" Who do you look at and think this? My top 9:

1. The Man With No Name
2. Chow Yun Fat in John Woo films
3. Jules Winfield in Pulp Fiction
4. Toshiro Mifune in his showier Kurosawa roles
5. Marcello Mastrionami
6. Bob La Flambeur
7. Lee Van Cleef in the Leone films
8. Bogey in most anything
9. Henry Fonda in most Westerns
10. John Wayne

Who are the other candidates for the Cool mother f'er hall of fame?

The obvious, James Bond. And the Man with No Name would be right behind.

Heston as Taylor - Planet Of The Apes and Beneath The Planet Of The Apes

Let's look at the facts:

1) Astronaut - C'mon, that's pretty badass
2) Time Traveller - Again, pretty damn cool
3) Great catch phrases:
a. "Get you stinkin' paws off me you damn dirty ape!"
b. "It's a madhouse! A MADHOUSE!"
c. "Damn you! Damn you all to hell!"
4) Was an outcast in his own world, and remained one on the ape planet. Outcasts are usually pretty cool
5) Spends much of film in a loin cloth
6) Part of one of the greatest endings in film history
7) Gets to blow up an entire planet

And of course there's always Han Solo, I mean he just oozed cool out of every pore.

Interesting... even though gender was not a condition, no one has mentioned a female leading character (as far as I can tell).

For your consideration:

Corky (Gina Gershon) - Bound
Sarah Conner (Linda Hamilton) - Terminator 2
Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) - Matrix Revolutions

Coolest female leading character:

Lt. Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) - Aliens
