You make it sound like tickets are $100-$250 before the added fees or something. For the show I'm hopefully heading to, tickets are $38.50 or $56.00 and include parking(which is usually $10).

The last few shows I've gone to were in MA, NY, and CT and they each were over 50 bucks a piece and then we had to drop like 20 bucks more to park.

Aside from big festivals and such, I think that tickets in the 25-35 range are much more reasonable. Pearl Jam cost me less than 30, as do most of the shows I've gone to over the last couple of years (again, aside from festivals and such)

last show I saw was almost 2 years ago I think, and it was WELL over 2 hours. In fact, I've been to like 8 dave shows and they've all been nearly 3 hours.

It's terrifying to think that $56 is an "acceptable" price for some people to pay for a concert.*

* I'm not referring to DMB in particular, but all concerts in general. I personally feel that anything over $12 is a lot, and $20+ is downright extravagant.

Thank YOU. I like Dave as a musician, but think that asking $50+ for a concert is crazy. Plus, he goes on tour every freakin' summer.

DMB, Phish, and Pearl Jam charge really reasonable prices. Sure, 60 bucks (including charges) isn't cheap, but compared to bands like U2 and the Stones, it's reasonable. And that's for seats. At most ampitheatres, you can get a lawn ticket for less than or around 40. And I've never had to pay extra for parking for a DMB, so obvioulsy that has nothing to do with the band. I payed like 120 for my U2 ticket. And people like Celine Dion, Bruce Springsteen, the Stones, N Sync, and Jimmy Buffet charge outrageous prices for good seats, like 200 bucks. Bottom line is that DMB is cheap relative to what they could charge and to other acts in the same class.

All of their shows are a little less than 3 hours, with a 2 song encore each night. And they usually put on pretty good shows. The crowd is usually into it, Dave can be phenomenal on a good night, and it's usually a really fun experience. I've been to 23 shows since '98, and they've been some of the best times of my summers.

And db27, all of the dates haven't been announced yet. So a lot of people are expecting SPAC and some shows in the tri-state area to be added. There's also talk of a DMB festival this summer, so we'll see.

If there was a festival, it probably would only be DMB and very few other bands. I would be suprised if they had a festival this year, if they did it would probably just be like a normal tour date for 2 straight days. They only started asking fans if they would go to a festival late last year, which is not nearly enough time to work on planning a festival.

I'm sure if Dave would do anything like this, he would copy his good friend Trey and just have a festival for his band. Give the fans an afternoon set and two night sets each day. It's not like Dave hasn't been following in Phish's footsteps his whole career.

What? How has DMB been following in Phish's footsteps? Just because they tour a lot? What are you talking about?

Are they still touring in support of the material that they first played in the summer 2000 tour? Or is there a new CD coming out this year?

A few band members (including Dave) have been doing some studio work for the next album. The bass player did an interview saying that they wouldn't start recording the new album until March though.

So there should be some new songs, but the album most likely won't be out until after the tour..

They really haven't been touring in support of that material for the past 3 years though. They vary the song selection regardless - last tour a lot of old songs came back - and tour whether or not they have something new coming out.
