Towards the end there's a part where a main male character enters a Matrix-like building and encounters a bunch of people on beds hooked up to machines. He finds the older guardian and is told that he is Adam and there's an Eve for him to help repopulate the Earth.

I want to say Cube but I'm not sure.

If I recall correctly there's a need for repopulation because the machines that are keeping everyone alive are deteriorating and won't last much longer.

Basically the main male character wakes up from the bed and the main guy tells him that everyone's been living through dreams but that the machines are old and decaying and everyone will die soon so it's up to him (Adam) and Eve to repopulate the Earth. He was chosen above all the others.

Kind of reminds me of a particular episode of Harsh Realm.
