Yes. A company called KiSS has already introduced two stand alone DivX players, model DP-450 ($200) and DP-500 ($500). The latter has network capabilities. Check out DivX.com for more info.

wow. $200 entry level... for that price I think I'll put that money into a HT pc that will just play everything.... think I've already got a case, PSU, cpu, ddr and sound card. need me a mobo and gpu with s-video out. hmm. maybe a $65 r8500
nic it in with my home network and should be set.
though I hate the idea of a keyboard/mouse in the living room... any alternatives to that? some remote control to move and click mouse??
