JBL N26 II Speakers - Is this price a good deal?
The JBL N26 II (2-way 6" Speakers) are advertised in this week's Best Buy ad for $59.99 each. Two of them would cost about $120.
First, are these speakers good for a home theater setup (either front or rear speakers)?
Second, is this a good deal? Can I get a better deal in any of the internet stores?
Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

Bestbuy.com has them listed for $99.
They seem to be a little big for rear surround speakers. The challenge in using them as fronts is finding a center speaker that matches (in sound, not appearence). You could try to buy a 3rd one to use as a center channel. This may look funny since center channel speakers are usually short and wide. The speaker doesn't look like it could really be put on its side either.

Now why would you buy a 3rd N26II as a center when there's a dedicated N-CenterII ($85) available?
They are powerful enough to be used as fronts, but when you get bigger and more powerful fronts, switch the N26IIs to surround.

Thanks for the suggestions.
NikePenguin: N26 II (black color) appears to be sold out on the website. The N26 AW II (white all weather) is on sale for $99.99. I don't know if that is for one speaker or for a pair.
FuzzyBallz: So I can use the N26 II as rear speakers? It will not be too big as rear speakers? (as NikePenguin had suggested?)
What center channel will go with the N26 II speakers? (that matches in sound)? Should I just use another JBL speaker? Or can I use another brand?
Also can I use JBL S- center speaker in combination with the N26 II?
Thanks

Thanks for the reply, Nike Penguin.
Here is what I have so far.
Toshiba DVD Player (don't remember the model number)
Sony Receiver - STRDE695
JBL 3 way S-center
Yamaha 3 way 8" speakers (2 of them) - NS 6390
I use the Yamaha speakers as front speakers now. Don't have rear speakers or Subwoofer right now (gradually trying to build my home theater setup).
If I purchase the JBL N26 II, then I can use that as front speakers (moving the Yamaha speakers to rear). Or I can just put the JBL N26 to the back.
I am looking for a budget priced home theater system (something not too expensive but at the same time I do not want the cheap stuff either).
Any suggestions ? Will the JBL N26 II speakers go with my current setup?
Thanks

Well, hopefully someone with more expertise will chime in here too. But...
I wouldn't use the Yamahas as rear speakers. Too much speaker. So you could get the JBLs for rears. If you are ok with how the JBL center matches the Yamahas, you are set. If not, you could get matching JBL fronts and use the Yamahas as stereo speakers.

Yes, I got the speakers. I haven't had the time to hook it up yet. Just been busy with work. Hopefully, I can hook up the speakers to my system this weekend.
I tested the demo models at Best Buy and I liked it very much. And I also checked several stores (both online and B&M) for the best price. At $60 a piece, these speakers were a good bargain (atleast that is what I thought).
Thanks again for your help.
