Do the glut of games each year come out in October-December?

I ask because from now to December 31st there are 26 games I want. There are already 7 games I want for 2004. I'm already calculating the overtime it'll take to take all those games home

This is my first holiday season since I got into gaming. Is this the situation year round (lots of good games to choose from) or can I rest knowing that once January comes around I can ease on the overtime?

Yes. It's all about Christmas. People tend to spend much more around that time, so developers try hard to ship between October - December. Games that slip past those dates, tend to ship in Spring. Summer is the worst month for games.

It depends on how many systems you have and how long into their life cycle it is. This time of year is always brutal on the gaming budget, but come spring there is hardly anything left on the release roster. I usually buy what I have to have right away and leave some of the "b" grade titles for the drought months. Usually they have dropped in price by then anyway.

P.S. Go easy on the O.T. or you will be too tired to play!

Is it just me or is this year crazier then ever? I printed out a list from work, and starting from October there is about 1-2 games a WEEK that are like must-buys to me

WWE Smackdown 5, XIII, Max Payne 2, Medal Of Honor: Rising Sun, NBA Live 04, True Crime, 007: EON, Final Fantasy X-2, Sims: Bustin Out, TMNT, Castlevania, Rainbow Six 3...and that's just a few

AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! Where will I find the time or money?

The only sad part is, so many great games will be overlooked simply because of a flooding market.

Seriously Deb, slow down. I have no idea how you could possibly have time for all your RPGs, let alone all those you have your eye on. Work a little less and remember, sometimes it's OK to wait until a game gets marked down

BTW I'm excited about the Xbox Music Mixer as well! I haven't seen anyone posting about it, but it sounds like a blast and for $35 including the mike, it's a total bargain. I can't sing at all, but my little girl will love it when she gets older.

You're on! I thought I'd transition into it slowly so I just played a little UC in deathmatch. I'll break out Mechassault today or tomorrow (too much damn HBO on tonight that I want to watch).
Thinking about picking up Midtown Madness 3 if I can get it for a good price on Ebay. Would you be interested in that game? I think I'll pick up Crimson Skies when it comes out as well, that sounds like a fun Live game.

When you said you just got into gaming, you weren't kidding about getting into it. You have all three home consoles plus the GBA and who knows how many games, in less than a year?

I have a list of all games owned in my sig

It's been about a year since I bought my GC and XBOX and the GBA and about 2-3 months since I bought the PS2.

In the last 2 years I've also trimmed down 24k in debt to a manageable 12k (and the most I'm paying in interest is 4%). Gotten over 300 DVDs. And I'm willing to bet I have one of the lowest salaries in this forum, certainly lower than many here

I also put about 5k a year in savings. I'm closing in on my first year and my first 5k.

I've done it mostly through overtime. I've put in about 700 hours of OT in the past two years.
