Name an obscure video game you plan to buy.
Or at least a game that you have high hopes for.
Conker: Live and Uncut
Rare is making an Xbox version of Conkers bad fur day, which, in my opinion, was the best N64 game that was made. There will be a complete N64 port, as well as new content, much of it multiplayer driven. The only problem is that it's being made by rare, so I doubt it will be released anytime soon.

Risk, by the looks of the store employees. No one's heard of it (release date was pushed from early Sept to Sept 24th.
Online play... yeah baby!

Is that sick as in good?
Yes, coming out for the PS2. And you can play as generals such as Napoleon! There are more than one mode of play (including Classic Risk - exact replica of the board game).

I remember it taking like a week to play one game. It's a cool idea for sure, but if it's trictly like the board game, I would hope there are some kind of save so you can continue an online game at another time.

Risk is where you have a map of a world and you place your little men around (or roman numberal tokens). Then you can attack neighboring countries if you have any number higher than them. For each attack you roll the dice and the person with the highest dice count wins - the losing person takes a number away from their token, and this goes on until someone loses their chips. Then you move your chip to the losing (and now vacated) country. The objective is to destroy all the enemy tokens.

I hate to break the shitty news, but Risk has been delayed until 10/28 according to EBGames. Noticed that this morning when I was updating the release list.

Boktai is tops on my list but i'm not sure if that counts as an 'obscure video game'. the sun sensor which encourages you to go outside and play is an interesting gimmick and i'm sold on that alone.
the other would be Fire Emblem and maybe DemiKids but i'm not 100% on that one.
oh yeah, Onimusha Tactics would also be on my list and i wouldn't mind getting my hands on Cubivore for the GC.
i'm sure there are others...

There was a Metal Slug:Cyber Mission for the GBA in development I think, but I haven't read anything about it in some time.

Obscure now, although probably won't be by the time it comes out:
Guild Wars
A PC MMORPG with no monthly fees.
Edited to add: Jade Empire, Bioware's new RPG for the Xbox that was just announced today.

Robin Hood: Defender of the Crown. The original was one of my favorite games. I'm hoping this one will be the same.
