Mario Kart Pre-Order Bonus Offer
Hope, Nintend throw in Mario 64 or Super Mario Kart 64 as a Bonus Disc. (Preview Demo Disc is Worse)
September 09, 2003 - Last month IGNcube reported that Nintendo would release a bonus disc for those who pre-order the GameCube racer Mario Kart: Double Dash!!. Our initial story included a promotional piece of art for the bonus offer, which stated that the disc would include playable preview software of GCN games.
Today Nintendo confirmed the offer and offered a detail or two more.
Nintendo stated by press release: "The offer gives customers who reserve an advanced copy of Mario Kart: Double Dash!! for Nintendo GameCube a chance to test drive a bonus preview disc loaded with movies and demos of upcoming Nintendo GameCube titles. The special offer is effective immediately at select retailers."
Unfortunately, Nintendo did not offer any specifics as to what demos or previews would be featured on the disc or when gamers who pre-order Double Dash!! would receive it. However, the company did at least state that those details would be forthcoming in the weeks to follow.
Mario Kart: Double Dash!! is scheduled to ship for GameCube on November 17. The title, a sequel to the hit Mario Kart 64, features classic Nintendo mascots in tricked-out karts -- all of them ready to race and do street battle with one another. The title will retail for $49.99, according to Nintendo.
We'll have more on the game and the bonus disc soon. Stay tuned.

So no Mario Kart 64 bonus disc? No pre-order here. Too many games coming out. I will have to put it on my christmas list. They would have had me Nov. 17th if they had the bonus game. Oh well.

If it's just demo's, no pre-order here. I'm not paying $49.99 for the game at EB with a lame demo disc, when I'll be able to get for at least $5 less at best buy with the coupon (maybe more if they are circuit city have a special).
I'd definitely pre-order it for MK64 though.

Why can't Nintendo just put demos with their official magazine like everybody else?

At least that is what I believe.

Ok, what about next month?
Wait a sec, these are the exact same demos in last month's disc?
Point is, there aren't many cube games being released. If they somehow had a GBA emulator on it to play GBA demos, we might be on to something.

That's good. I still refuse to pay for OXM because it's a lame pile of fanboy crap. I can't deal with non-objective reporting, reviews etc. But I probably have higher standards than most, having a BS in Journalism.
