haven't heard anything, and i remember a sep 30 release date being mentioned. is that still the plan? shouldn't there be some announcements or demos or something? anyone working in retail have any knowledge on this?

Planethalflife.com is convinced that the game won't make the 9/30 date, however Valve keeps insisting that it will. If it's going to make that date, it's going to need to go gold next week.
It could be that 9/30 is the date for the Steam release, and perhaps the SKU versions will come later.

Well it only takes about two weeks from the anouncement that it went gold to make it on shelves.. lets see if it can make it.

The plot thickens...
I checked Ebgames.com and Gamestop.com this time last week and the date was still 9/30. As of today, it's now 11/19 on both sites.
This still doesn't preclude an early Steam release.

If the game isn't completed I'd prefer that they wait rather than turn out a piece of crap game. If it's not ready, don't release it--I don't mind waiting if the end result is an excellent game.

I had heard of the Nov 19th date elsewhere, but I can't recall where.

Steam hasn't released any Blink video's for a while. they put them on hold so that they could work on the game non stop. I'm willing to put some money that they will make the date.

The real shockers come out now..:
Steam is of course replacing the WON ID process.. the real question is how will this effect LAN games
http://steampowered.com/index.php?ar...0,1050915714,9<br%20/>1503900
So basiclly, steam is required for HL2 whenever you play anything other then Single player. will LAN games need to have a net connection to play?
http://steampowered.com/index.php?ar...15714,91503900
Note: some Steam-enabled single-player games (such as Half-Life 2) purchased at a retail store will allow offline play until the user decides to play online or enable other Steam functionality. From that point on, an Internet connection will be required."
"At a LAN party, this means that Internet access must be available to every machine on which Steam games are being played. "
Hmmmmmmmmmmm...
Also note, EB pulls dates out of their ass

Duke nukem anyone?
