I played part one when it was first released on the PS2 (since there wasnt very much else at the time) I played part 2 in the arcade and thought it was ok, nothing special.. Didn't even realize there was a part 3 out til i saw this post..

I'd be willing to pick it up, has got a nice price tag and u get 3 games so that is pretty cool.. Thanks for letting us know..

I only played the second one but it can be beaten in under 30 minutes. The first is probably even shorter. I didn't even know about the third one. I would wait until the price drops or rent it.

Will it have its own light gun or will you just have to use that other one.

I'm grabbing this one for sure... light gun games are a flailing genre... which is sad cause they are soooo much fun. Great for multiplayer or you can always go style on the bad guys. I like the intro price of $40 too... means it wont be long before its in the $20 range.

Yeah, I'm still torn on getting the official US matcatz gun or a couple of those nice import guns -- not the ultra-expensive berettas, but something else -- cheaper but more realistic looking.

Lik-Sang has a variety to choose from, but I don't know where to look for reviews for this sort of thing.

Ok. In anticipation of this game and because I need to shoot something I went ahead and picked up this gun on ebay:

Just got it in the mail and it looks pretty nice -- if a little light. Now in the meantime I need to pick up HOTD3 -- anyone seen it for cheap? I'll probably just get it off Amazon for $40 new, but a real price break used (or new) would be sweet. Probably nobody even selling it in stores this weekend, but I may give it a look-see anyways.

fyi, I can't remember which magazine I saw it in. But I believe there is going to be an official rifle/gun for this game. ie. the game will KNOW if you are using this gun and somehow it will incorporate the scope funtion of the game.

That sounds like it would be very expensive, if it is similiar to the arcade rifle. That one has a built in LCD to see the 'zoomed in' screen.

Even less "worth it" than the Steel Battalion controller. *Disclaimer* I think SB is "worth it" comparatively speaking, but this would seem pretty pointless.

edit -- answered my earlier question -- I'll try HOTD3 from Gamestop used for $30.

Actually, Pelican is making a light rifle for this game. It's pretty cool, as I've actually seen it already. It has a scope but it's not LCD like the arcade because no one will buy a $150 gun. It has a motion sensor that zooms in (on screen) when you put your eye up to the scope. It's pretty inovative. You can also dismantle the rifle into a regular blaster as well. Here's a link to it for sale, although there is no pic. http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=801667

I can say that the prototype I saw was big, green, and ugly. Although, it was ugly but cool.

Glad I finally picked HOTD3 up. Tons of fun -- never had the chance to go to an arcade to play this. Pretty tough too. Still haven't beat it even with 9 continues -- need a bit more practice.

One question though -- my gun came with a comparably short cable -- only about 6 feet or so (maybe less!). Would a generic xbox cable extension work with this (the plug on the cable looks the same size), or are the guns only really rated to work for a certain distance to begin with? -- generally speaking that is...

thanks. Wish they'd put Time Crisis out for xbox.
