Ok, Now here is the rough sketch... This sunday, if you are located in the greater Los Angeles area (So Cal) I'm thinking of a DVDTALK Matrix Sunday meet. More info in a bit but just to say It would be in the Downtown L.A. area.

Now This will be directly related to the MATRIX RELOADED and I just wanted to see who's in the area and would be interested in getting together in the early part of it all. roughly midday. I'll post more info after I see a post or two expressing interest..

Is this because of the comic convention, or is there a screening?

It is exactly that. the los angele Sci Fi convention is gonna have some Matrix presentation. Though in 1999 when they had this they actually gave everyone who attended passes to watch the first film later that night on the Warner brothers studio's theater I'll never forget the way the chain gun sounded on that system.. anyhow, this time around with The Matrix actually being very popular and an obvious hit only two of the stars will be there


Now I've been going to this convention since I could remember. It's a decent collection of venders with enough Toys/Posters/Porn to fill anyone's needs as well as decent guest every now and then.

Taking place at the shrine, I figured we could all meet up there and enjoy the stuff. not to mention the free goods that will be given out at the door.

as well as the Animatrix dvd... which I'm not sure if it's the actual film or a behind the scenes? Well who knows anyhow, the free goods are worth the price alone half the time.

So well, anyone interested in having a sort of Mini meet at the convention? (I must sound like a huge nerd huh)

Ok, so what's the 411 on it.

As far as I can remember the convention usually starts forming the lines around 8-9. price to get in is 20 bucks if you want to get in early (9:30) and you get all the free stuff then, which in turn ends up ebing about the same price as the free stuff.

I plan to show up early. Now who wants to go and get like a group going or something? Jiggawhat is in, who else? Tor_greg, Your in the area. You in?

Down side to this is that the ANIMATRIX is being show at the Egyptian theater just a few blocks down the street from the chinese theater on the 14th at 9:00, So I'm trying to figure out if any theaters will be showing a show after the 10 so that way it could be a matrix double header night.. animatrix on the big screen and reloaded right after..

I'll try to make it to the convention, but money's tight right now. Ironically, once I'm through this financial hiccup, there'll be a surge of it coming in. D'oh!

Yeah I knew about the Animatrix screening. I figured even if there was a midnight screening of Reloaded, I'd end up with crappy seats. Not worth it, and whoever scheduled the Animatrix screening is a stupid crap-for-crap.

What are some good theaters to go see Reloaded at? I want to see it at a big theater with a good sound system. I have heard the arclight in hollywood is good. Anyone know some really nice theaters in Los Angeles? I usually go to the Burbank AMC.

the AMC 6 in burbank is a pretty decent theater if you ask me. Stadium seating, DLP. anyhow, as for the Matrix, I'm not sure which theater I'll be going to. it's a tough call right now.

I tried to get there today, but my ass couldn't get up early enough because I watched x2 at 12:30. Watched about half-hour of f'n commercials which made me sick. I got there at about 9:40 and the line was unbelievable. I did look for you Jack, but I guess I didn't find ya.

So what happened at the convention? Did u guys get the animatrix dvd? Did the twins sign everybody's items that were in line, or did that jerkoff promoter stop the line again after "more expensive" seats got theirs signed. Damn that guy is selfish. He did that schtick when Sam Raimi was there. Sam Raimi still wanted to sign and it seemed like he tried to rush him to get him out. They cut the line off so me and my friend jumped from the ropes and I put my spider man pass on the table. Sam saw it and signed it, he did the same thing for my friend. Good thing Sam is a cool guy. Promoter dude was behind us and we laughed and gave each other high five. Man that felt good....okay back to the topic, how was the convention again?

I didn't stay for the whole thing, but I did get the making of the animatrix dvd. They ran out of the poster, hat and t-shirt very early and looked like they were keeping a lot of stuff for themselves based on what I saw which kind of pissed me off. And I don't really care about getting any autographs so I left. It looks like a bus stop is where I will be picking up the poster.

sucks that no one saw me (Since I really don't know how anyone else here looks). I was able to get a poster and all the other stuff and got it signed aswell. the promoter was being the same way as always. Oddly enough, I saw Jeff Hardy (WWE) at the convention just walking around and got a picture with him. I'm out of it right now (pain medication) so I'll try to type when I'm more awake.

I was actually working security for the convention the day Raimi was there. Got a signed Spidey poster from him. It's now also signed by Bruce Campbell

It was great, I know my previous post wasnt so discriptive but it was great! The promoter really kept it organized though lots of people were complaining for no good reason. Jack and I got there earlier enough to secure great seats. I think anyone who got a number higher than 30 was pretty much arsed out when it came to meeting David Boreanaz, but the twins Neil and Adrian stayed longer..as to how long? Im not sure. Funny thing about meeting Jeff Hardy was I didnt even recognize him. He was hiding behind a pair of sunglasses and a visor. When I saw him I pegged him for a wanna-be but Jack was the one to approach him on it. All in all this was one of the better cons. Next month Arnold Schwarnegger(SP?) is supposed to show up, but chances are he'll only sign for 2 seconds and leave like he did when he was there last. Jack has some stuff to post later, we even got to take pics in the Matrix chair. You know the one they get plugged in with? It was funny to point it out to people "Hey look its the matrix chair! and have them say "huh?"
