The Matrix Reloaded

I'm thinking that The Matrix Reloaded will be one of the bigger movies of 2003, so I've created a sub forum so people can discuss it when it finally hits the silver screen (and people who haven't seen it yet can insulate themselves from spoilers).

Sweet! I was hoping we'd get a forum for this.

What? No sub-forum for "From Justin to Kelly"?

Why not make one for X-Men 2 as well? I think the total box office catch will be pretty close between these 2 movies. You have to remember X-Men 2 is rated PG-13 and Matrix Reloaded is R. Their BO take on their prequels were pretty close as well, although Matrix overtook X-Men...but it took quite a few months for it to reach the level X-Men did in a month.

Just something to think about

Could someone set me straight please?
I heard that to FULLY understand all of the details of Matrix Reloaded, one must watch Animatrix and play the Matrix video game. Is this true?

i think the idea is that you don't need to see/play the animatrix or enter the matrix to fully understand reloaded, but that they will serve to e-x-p-a-n-d your understanding. sort of like the difference between receiving a package from the ups guy at your doorstep and actually riding with him from the warehouse to your house to see what he did to get it there. okay, lame example. how about -- it's the difference between knowing the path, and walking the path.

It would be EXTREMELY difficult to see all of the Animatrix AND beat the game before you see the movie. The game comes out the same day the movie does (5/15) and the Animatrix DVD doesn't come out until June 3rd I believe. Are you going to hold out for almost a month before seeing Reloaded? I doubt it.

As the previous person said, it expands Reloaded. It's kind of like analytical papers on a classic book. It expands your knowledge of the core subject (Reloaded) and makes you think more about it. Is that a good analogy? This is at least how I take the Animatrix and game.

Whether you choose to expand your knowledge is up to you. I doubt it is required material though as I doubt everyone that sees Reloaded is going to take in all these things.

Good idea for a sub-forum. Maybe it should be the Matrix 2003 forum instead since Matrix revolutions is going to come out soon. Speaking of Revolutions, there's a rumor it might come out in June. I'll post a thread about that actually.

Next person to make another "sub-forum" joke should be perm-banned.

Of course, that's just my opinion.

"Perm-banned" is a bit too much. I say, simply quarantine them..........to a newly-created sub-forum.

I won't make a sub-forum joke, but this is almost a month in advance. Neither SW:AOTC nor LOTR:TTT got its sub forum until the release dates were upon us.

I doubt X2 will generate as much discussion. For one it's a comic book movie, so it probably won't be as plot heave. Second, Spider-man was the most successful comic book movie ever and there wasn't enough discussion of it to warrant a sub-forum. Lastly, with the 3rd Matrix movie coming out this year, it's likely that Reloaded will have lots of twists and unanswered questions to be discussed by fans.

The only real justice would be to have a "Kangaroo Jack" sub forum since it's still going strong... (I'm sure in some far off nation.. maybe)

I'm sure their will be plenty of people posting there discuss with the X-men flick aswell. I mean hell, we already have wars about comic book films. Look at the hulk thread. Not to mention the "Dare Devil rocked but spidey sucked" flame wars that come about. So I'm sure X2 will generate just the same amount of buzz and discussion.. even more so by the classic X-men fans vs the Newer stuff. either way it's cool. I say we should have a "comic book film" sub forum.. for I wish to complain about the hulks purple pant's not being the same size as in the comics... not to mention that the button on those pants would rip by common logic.. those folks making the film should hire me as producers for I shall tell them how to do it correctly..

All you witless souls should count your blessings. If I was admin--no warnings, nothing. Perm-ban.

Common logic also tells us the barrel of the tank would snap like a twig! Silly Hollywood, thinking they can make a story about the Hulk and then try to pull something like that on me. Simply ridiculous.
