Why can't their be a good movie based on Pirates?
Why God Why?? I know I'm judging the new Johnny Depp flick by its trailer, but I'm not impressed but that and Cuthroat Island. Ugh. Why can't they get it right?!!

CutThroat Island had everything I wanted in a pirate flick, except for ghost pirates. Now we have ghost pirates. Am I the only one that doesn't see the problem here?

Judging by the trailer. "Pirates of the Carribean" looks to be the pirate flick to end all pirate flicks. It looks great! What more can you ask for? Great cast, great effects, looks to be tons of action!!

Anyway, clearly no one around here has seen "The Pirate Movie" with Kristy McNichol and Christopher Atkins. Because that is the zenith of pirate films. And no other will ever come close.

Goonies, Count of Monte Cristo (kind of), Princess Bride, Swiss Family Robinson, Hook. I liked all these movies that have some kind of Pirate theme involved.
The new Pirates of the Caribbean looks really entertaining to me.
