Could IMD-BE any more annoying? (or "Got a little quickness in ya")

I tried going to IMDb.com, as I occassionally do for movie information, and every single page has Seann William Scott's face popping through to advertise that "Bulletproof Monk" movie which looks retarded.

There's not even a way to close it as far as I can tell. Click a movie, and up pops Stifler with the same line ("Got a little quickness in ya?"). If you're not fast, what follows that is a loud bass sound with the quick cuts of action sequences and loud music that are so popular with trailer-makers today.

Anyway, I think it 's ridiculous and I needed to vent. Just TRY to browse the sections there...it's unbearable!

"Who were the ad geniuses who came up with that one?!"

Ugh.

You could say the same thing about this web site, DVDtalk. Back when FearDotCom came out, everytime I would go to a new page, I would hear "DO YOU LIKE TO WATCH?!?", which is great, because my family probably assumed that I was constantly visiting adult web sites in their presence.

There are a handful of nice proggies (free!) out there if you wanna cut down on the popups. I use it/them everytime I do some massive online research so it cuts down on the advertisements pretty quickly. I haven't seen what it does to the java yahoo ads yet tho...

Oh, definitely. Pop-up killers are the way to go. It's these embedded ads which I don't think they can do anything for.
