What are some movies that you thought were just ok or good, but not great the first time you saw it and after seeing the film more you began to really like the film much more.

For me its Minority Report which I liked the first time I saw it in the theater, but did not see the masterpiece many critics were calling it. Once I got the dvd, I was just blown away and started to like more and more where its one of my most watched dvds of recent months.

Risky Buisness comes to mind, hated it the first time, now its a personal favorite

Got to the end and went...eh. Then saw it again and watched it as and loved it.

Matrix - didn't like it the first time in the theatre, now it's one of my favorite action movies.

Unbreakable - all I could think about was how boring it was. Now I love the story as whole. What an awesome take on the superhero genre.

Swingers seemed funnier the second time around.

Boogie Nights: "Appreciated" it the first time mostly as *giggle* *snort* "a flick about a pornstar with a horsecock." Got much more emotionally involved after repeated viewings.

X-Men: Kinda sorta enjoyed it the first time, but something held me back. Saw it again recently, and would probably bump my rating up by half a star.

The Big Lebowski. I hated it the first time I watched it, to the point that I couldn't even finish it.

I now recognize it for the masterful cinematic achievement that it is.

Black Hawk Down

The first time around I was so shell shocked from the intense combat scenes I couldn't figure out whether I liked it or not. The second time I paid more attention and came away with one of the best theatrical experiences I've ever had.

All of these I kind of liked when I first saw them, but after subsequent viewings I have realized their genius

The Sixth Sense.

A bunch of people I know had hyped it up as being super scary, when I saw it the first time I was like "WTF? That wasn't scary at all."

Then after seeing it again and just watching it for what it was and loved it.

Gotta agree with Fellowship of the Ring. First time I saw it, too many characters, seemed kind of drawn out. Saw it again at the $2 theater, and loved it, loved it, looooved it.

I would say The 5th Element. Saw it in theaters and I liked it. I have the DVD and it is now one of my favorite flicks.
