There have been many bands that have attempted to replicate the techniques on My Bloody Valentine's Loveless (whether intentional or not). Glifted (Hum's Tim Lash, Love Cup bassist T.J. Harrison, and some computer technology) is one of the closest to come to those cherished and sought-after reverberations. Not that Under and In (which coincides with a release by Centaur, featuring Hum's Matt Talbott) is derivative, but if you put My Bloody Valentine in a studio with Hum, you'd get a pretty good idea of the explosions of sound heard here. There are guitar effects and plenty of them. Airy vocals drift and are pulled along by the heavy yet soothing guitar riffs. "Last in Line," with its squealing guitar action and huge riffs, at times rivals even hard rockers like Soundgarden. Usually, though, the swirling guitars actually recall the work of Swervedriver. Aside from the ten minutes of looping in the closing track, this is some of the most impressive post-Loveless rock in years. — Kenyon Hopkin, allmusic.com

They were originally called My Boody Valentine, until someone mistakenly changed "Boody" to "Bloody." They thought it'd be funny to bring that joke back! I think it worked too!
