Freddie Prinze Jr. to Quit Acting! Woohoo!

Click here to read all about Freddie Prinze Jr saying that he will quit acting in the next few years to focus on writing, of all things.

If I was him, I would focus on having sex with my wife, Sarah Michelle Gellar, as often as possible. That's just me, though.

"What I really want to do is write."

Here's hoping he retires after he's delivered on the much-anticipated sequel to Wing Commander.

Not after another month though.

Don't get your hopes up, he'll say he came back for the fans when in reality he'll just be too lazy to get a script finished.

Great, now he'll pollute the printed page and the screen at the same time.

The irony is the guy has the WORST taste in scripts... I often wondered if he even reads them before he signs up, or just scans the logline and says "sounds good, I don't need to read the actual script".

And this line from the story kills me:
"You have to constantly be willing to live in a scary, emotional place, which is why actors are in therapy all the time."

Huh? It's not like he's DeNiro... a quick recap has him in two Last Summer movies (not just character work, scary or otherwise), a live action cartoon (and it's upcoming sequel), a cartoonish video game shoot-em-up, and five romantic comedies where he was forced to make out with hotties like Rachel Lee Cook, Julia Stiles, Jessica Biel, Clare Forlani, and Monica Potter. Yeah, I'm sure these have been emotionally wrenching roles.

Word is that he and Sarah Michelle are finding a place in London to live, since he just finished starring on the West End in Kenneth Lonnegan's 'This is Our Youth' with Chris Klein and Heather Burns, oh and by the way this was the only time I actually saw him "act".

So does this mean Sarah will be back on the market when she gets tired of supporting his slacker ass?

I'd give my left nut if he would replace the word "Acting" with the word "Breathing".

He was in a play with Chris Klein? Klein is one of the most wooden "actors" I have ever seen. Asbolutely horrible.

well surprisingly given the fact that the Kenneth Lonengan ("You Can Count on Me") script for "This is Our Youth" features scathingly explicit language and is an interesting story: Freddie and Chris brought a side of acting that has never been seen in their 'film' roles.

I think Matthew Lillard and Freddie Prinze, jr. are going to write scripts together. It would be like a scene out of True West.
