I watch them all too, and it's a good list. These are all very solid programs, a couple of which took me by surprise.

The only ones I don't watch are American Dreams and Everwood.

I'm surprised Without a Trace is on there. It's done pretty well considering it's up against ER. I know it's faired alot better then the Agency did last year.

I'm only watching one of them: Boomtown, and probably not for very much longer now that they've completely abandoned the "one crime from different viewpoints" angle.

I'm surprised Alias is on there. I thought that was a well received show by millions of audiences.

Oh well. Still great exposure for a great show.

Angel?

Don't they mean "Wacky Supernatural Pregnancies Gone Wild!" ?

Insert "jump the shark" graphic.

It's well received by critics, but gets beaten badly in the ratings by Law & Order:CI.

Well, I don't really know anything about Without a Trace and American Dreams looks absoultely horrible to me. I occasionally watch Everwood, but I just watch it because I like the genre. I can't believe it's on there, there's not a single thing exceptional about the show. It's so bland and mediocre. The other 3 choices are good.

Since I don't think any of my favorite shows make it into the top 30, my list for the best shows people aren't watching would just be my 6 favorite shows:

Angel
Gilmore Girls
South Park
Curb Your Enthusiasm
The Shield

and even though it's not on right now, I'll go ahead and put the most underrated reality show on here:
Big Brother

Did they abandon it? I was hoping last night was a "change of pace" or something. It will be very depressing if this wonderful series turns into just another cop show. At least give me one original season so I can buy the DVD set.

Does anyone know if that change is "official"? I hope not. Fox bravely stuck with 24 and now the show is reaping the rewards with much better ratings and good reviews (but not from das )

i'll defend american dreams. it is a good show and i watch it faithfully. it is true to the era and the surrounding of the show dealing with american bandstand and music i like is all the better. the characters are well done, and fun to keep up with. definitely worth a watch.

I'd like to see Angel, but I don't want to pick up in the middle, I want to see it from the beginning. Good thing Season 1 is out on dvd, I hope to start watching someday

I used to watch Alias. Always trying to figure out what happened led me to stop watching.

I caught a glimpse of Everwood but that was all. I've never seen the others.

I have to admit to complete shock that American Dreams has been as good as it is. It doesn't take a genius to know that the 60s would be an incredible setting for a quality show, but I just expected it to be cheesy and silly with an over-emphasis on pop stuff. Surprisingly, though, they've done an excellent job capturing the era (which does include an inherent excess of pop music and such, but the show doesn't exploit it) and have produced a couple of very memorable episodes. I really expected NBC to screw this one up, but being in a low-profile spot like Sundays at 8pm seems to have kept them safe for the most part. I hope it continues on.

I watch American Dreams, W/O a Trace, and Boomtown. Excellent shows.

In general though, I hate when TV Guide does these lists.

They successfully used this "Best Show You're Not Watching" to deliver the Kiss of Death to Sports Night, Once & Again, and Farscape.

I have no idea why W/O a Trace is on that list. It gets good ratings and is the first show on either ABC or CBS to ever put a dent in ER's ratings. It also has about as good a lead-in as you could pray for (TV's #1 drama). I don't think it needs any help.

Getting back to Boomtown, I really hope it makes it. When I saw the pilot, I was very impressed, but I worried that the writing couldn't keep up in subsequent weeks. I have a feeling it's much harder to write a story in a non-linear fashion and make it any good. So far I've been quite impressed, esp with the episodes written by Grahm Yost, the show's creator (who did such fine work on Band of Brothers). I hope that the main "hook" of the show hasn't been abandoned, because to turn this original creation into just another NYPD Blue clone would be a HUGE mistake.
I know if it gets cancelled I'll feel especially bad for Jason Gedrick, who would have seen three of his TV series be cancelled despite high quality for being "too challenging" for the viewer(Murder One, EZ Streets).

Good point. I assume that Trace does pretty well in the ratings. Far better than the rest of the shows on this list.
