Breakfast Club on TBS...deleted scenes?!?
So... I have watched breakfast club about a million times. I know all the dialog from begining to end. This morning I ran across it on TBS so I stopped for awhile and watched it.
I counted no less than 2 scenes that I didnt recognize. I even put my dvd on and compared. The scenes were not there!
they are:
1. When estevez and sheedy go to get drinks from the cafeteria, everybody coughs up some money, and judd nelson forces anthony michael hall to pay for his.
2. while the whole group is on the way to judd nelson's locker they pass the faculty lounge. everyone is very carefull as they pass the open door because "vernon" is in the line of sight yelling at the coke machine. everyone goes right past the door except for sheedy, who stops in the doorway and pauses. ringwald comments that she is "weird but cool".
any ideas where these scenes came from, why they arent on the dvd (I can only assume they would have been on the SE had it not been postponed)?
and finally, how the hell did TBS get a hold of them?
Thanks.

I think I've seen those two scenes on TV before as well. Not sure as to how they got them, but here is a link that summarizes a list of extra scenes: http://us.imdb.com/AlternateVersions?0088847

From IMDB: Oddly enough, despite the fact that Bender's "Eat My Shorts" argument with the principal contains no profanity (and this later became Bart Simpson's trademark line in "Simpsons, The" (1989), television broadcasts re-dub the line as "Eat my socks".
I'd forgotten all about the faculty lounge scene until you mentioned it. I hope it and other scenes show up on the future SE.

I had always heard that after the movie came out and it was preparing for network premiers, the cast went in to do overdubs for all the profanity. [this much is true and you can tell the overdubbed voices are the same as the actors] Well, the story I know is that they all thought it was so silly they just overdubbed all sorts of stuff, profane or not, because it made it funny.

My favorite is on Fast Times At Ridgemont High. They change "I don't care whether she cums, lays, stays, or prays" to "I don't care whether she laughs, shouts, screams, or pouts."
