Whats Your Dream Concert?

Simple question: If you can have any band(s) play (alive or dead) at a concert who would they be?

Mine would be:

Metallica (not playing anything past And Justice) and Iron Maiden

with Opeth and Shadows Fall opening.

Hmm....you gave no limit on bands : )

The Beatles
the Sex Pistols
because they were both historymaking bands, the likes of which I don't think we'll see again
Dead Kennedys
ditto, in a different way
Christian Death
one of my favorite bands, who never tours near here
GWAR
just because they kick ass live, and they always get banned wherever I live : (
Dead Milkmen
another awesome, fun live show with a band who's not dead, but broken up

I don't know who I'd like to headline/who to open, however....

I've seen most of my favorite bands already, so I'd probably have to say the ones that I've never seen.

The Police
Foo Fighters
Led Zeppelin
Misfits (original line up)
Cynic
The Sundays
Merle Haggard
Dolly Parton
Dave Brubeck
Chucho Valdes
Chemical Brothers
Soilent Green
Rigor Mortis
Alison Krauss
The Meters
Rush (Moving Pictures era or earlier)

That would be one long ass day of music.

The only realistic dream concert (I.E. not including dead artists) I would like to see is The Police. I missed them in 84 (I was 12 at the time) during the Synchronicity Tour. I've gone back and forth over the years as far as thinking that it's cool that they've never reunited and left in their prime. On the other hand, when Sting puts out crap like "Desert Rose" I long for a Police reunion

If we're talking dead artists...Hendrix and a Who show with Moon. Even if Joe Strummer were alive I wouldn't want a Clash reunion tour because that would go against the principles they stood for.

I've already seen my dream concert.

Seeing Tool during my first visit to Las Vegas. Plus I had dead center 3rd row back seats

Hmm, I would take:

Pink Floyd (in their prime with Waters, transported in time to 2003)
Tool
Nine Inch Nails
Opeth

Or the super grunge mix:

Alice In Chains
Soundgarden
Pearl Jam

I believe the only time Nirvana and Pearl Jam toured together is when they opened for the Red Hot Chilli Peppers. I heard it wasn't too friendly between the two bands.

Misfits (original line up)

I actually kinda enjoy the 'updated' version of the Misfits. I was kinda frightened when I first saw the albums American Psycho and Famous Monsters, but I actually like them. They're not *quite* the same as the original lineup, certainly, but I like them nonetheless. I can understand most of the lyrics, which is always good, they're more musical than a lot of heavy metal/punk, and I like the subject matter--I've always liked B-horror movies, and those two albums really pay homage to some of the classics. I bet that lineup would be a fun show also. Although according to the website, the only show booked has Jerry Only, Marky Ramone and Dez from Black Flag, which in itself is a good lineup.

Rollins kicks ass live, both music shows and standup. Plus he hung around after the show when I saw last to meet people, which was cool [esp for me, I'm not much of a roadie or groupie or whatever; got a couple things signed and shook his hand. He doesn't look it on stage, but he is actually somewhat short. His presence on stage makes him look ten feet tall, though.]

Dream concert: Pink Floyd - The Wall Tour 1981 (possibly Berlin)

also Floyd on tour to support: Meddle, DSOTM, Wish You Were Here, Animals...

Uncle Tupelo's last show in St. Louis - I could have gone, but my dumbass didn't get tickets in time - they sold out fast as hell.

Any Zeppelin show would probably be fresh as hell, too.

The Replacements - especially around the time "Tim" was released.

The Pixies would have been really great, too.

Actually I don't think Nirvana was on the bill when Pearl Jam toured as an opening act for the Chilli Peppers, but as I recall the Smashing Pumkins were!!

Anwyay here are my choices:

Bob Marley and the Wailers at the Lyceum in London.
Grateful Dead - Ventura, OR 08.27.1972 or one of their Filmore,NY shows.
The Clash - any show, but perferably at a smaller venue.
Pink Floyd with the 4 members (waters, gilmore, etc..)
The Stone Roses (original band members) - excellent choice Giles
Verve - Touring for 'A Northern Soul'.
U2 in a small venue.
Chemical Brothers at Glastonbury.
The Beatles on the roof of Apple Studios.

I know Pearl Jam and Nirvana were together for at least part of the tour. I remember Jeff Ament saying how the guys from Pearl Jam were lucky to even get a hi from Cobain.

My dream concert would be to see either Pink Floyd(with Roger Waters), The Doors, Nirvana, or A Perfect Circle opening for Tool. I would take any of those.
