Super Monkey Ball 1 or 2?

I am interested in Super Monkey Ball but I am not sure if I should get the first one and then the second or just skip the first one and start with the second.

Comments, opinions, advice about these games would be greatly appreciated?

The second one had better Multiplayer action, but I think the single-player levels were better in the first.

I would definitely start with the first one. It can be had for cheaper I think, and it will be a better initiation into the world of SMB. I think 1 is also a more difficult and satisfying game, with more real challenges and a more rewarding multiplayer that doesn't rely as much on gimmicks as the second one.

For my part, my friends and I spent hours playing Monkey Target in the first one, and in the second, the minigame was changed and was not as fun.

You can't go wrong with either, but in my opinion the first would be a better start. (How's that for insightful logic? )

If you have HDTV only SMB2 is 480P WS.
They are both great, 2 looks better.

i just picked up Super Monkey Ball 2 for $29.99 at KBToys in the UTC mall.

I didn't believe it at first cause it had a 49.99 sticker and somebody cross it off and wrote 29.99. so i took it up and it was 29.99

Never played either game, but im more interested in 4 player multiplayer action.

Yes, Toysrus did screw up the Price sticker on Monkey ball 2 for $29.99. Also, the 1st Monkey Ball is now $29.99 at Toysrus.

The 1st Monkey Ball is kinda hard to find (Bestbuy, Circuit City, Walmart, Kmart, Target, Gamestop no longer Carry it)
