Any of you Austin area cats sick of SXSW too?
Last night, 2 of my (if I had to pick 'em) top ten favorite musical acts were playing at the same time (midnight) at two different venues. Plan A was to attempt to get in line for Yo La Tengo/Cat Power/Spoon. A quick walk by indicated a "No way in hell" for Plan A. Plan B was to cruise on over to the off-venue and catch the Brian Jonestown Massacre. Again, only wristbands were let in. Sadly, this will probably be the only TEXAS stop for these bands much less the only Austin stop this year.
It just pisses me off these guys come here and play for spoiled little frat boys and suits & ties who have no clue who they're even listening to.
As our neanderthal ancestors said....."Fuggem"
Never Again, let the frat boys have it!

If they were you favorite bands why not try and get there eary to get a good place?
If these people have no clue who they are going to listen to then why are they in a long line?
No seriously, the Yo la Tengo, Cat Power, Spoon show I understand. But you fellows would be crying too if the one time Yo La Tengo came through you're geographical region, much less state, and you weren't able to just buy tickets like any other occasion.
Hey if you're sick of SouthxSouthwest send some of those acts my way. Nobody plays up here in New Haven, CT anymore and the city has just effectively killed the music scene.
