Being a pretty big AC/DC fan since i was a kid.I still do not have all there albums.Yet thankfully have heard most of them at one time or another. In fact i have about 10 of there cds if you include the Bonfire set.Thus thats more than any other band in my collection!

So what are your picks for there Best & Worst?


I will say the worst for me is Blow Up Your Video.Boy that was horrible.I payed $2 for it used..& quicky got rid of it!


Everything else i've heard it's tough to pick only one for the best.Since practically all the Bon & early Brian era stuff rules. I guess in a nutshull,everything up until either Flick of the Switch or Fly on the Wall(has a few great tracks,though have'nt heard the whole album yet) are the definative AC/DC experiance.Everything afterwords is a mixed bag...though nothing gets worst than Blow Up Your Video.

I liked that one song in Maximum Overdrive from them.

The best, or should I say, "my favorite" is Powerage. They all have their good points. As Howard Stern mentioned today when they were on his show, they've never written anything flat out embarassing.

True...but i only like 1 track on Blow Up(HeatSeeker) & the rest of the album didn't have really any replay value for me.Which is why out of all there albums i've heard.It's my least favorite.


Yet everything else rocks & theres always a great beat to go along with it.One reason why they're one of my all time favorite bands.Heck even today when they're much older.They can still rock(though Brians voice is another issue) & a few songs on Stiff Upper Lip rock. Meanwhile The Rolling Stones blow today,when they used to rock back in the 60's.

Sorry to be so boring, but my favorite is Back in Black

I don't know about 'best,' but one of my favorites is the little-known Fly on the Wall, early 80's I believe. A couple of classics that later appeared other places were on this one [Sink the Pink, Shake your Foundations], but the rest of the album is excellent also. It's when Brian Johnson was throaty and rough, but still intelligible, and the last track, I think, [Send for the Man] starts with one of the best guitar hooks and 'emotional' singing [you can really feel him belting it out from the diaphragm.

But even AC/DC admits that they've only recorded one album...they've just recorded it numerous times...

My favorite is Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap.

as far as what I dont like...I dunno, seems like Fly on the Wall was a bit unenjoyable

Besides the obvious early stuff I thought Razors Edge was pretty good.

Best - I'd say a three way tie between DDDDC, Highway to Hell, and Back in Black. I'd probably have to give the edge to BiB, though, since it's sort of their definitive release. DDDDC really crackles with energy and youthful enthusiasm, but they still retain their bar-rock sound. Highway to Hell is all anthemic arena-rock, but despite having arguably their best song "H2H," I don't think that the rest of the album (with a few exceptions, of course) is honestly that remarkable, but it's still a great album.

BiB is very much a survivor's tale -- a band at the top of the game lost their singer, replaced him, and still put out a kick-ass album.

Their worst - Blow Up Your Video. What the hell does that title mean, anyway? This album came out in the middle of the Poison/Cinderella/Bon Jovi hair metal explosion of the late mid-80s, and you can kind of sense that they're trying to feel their way around that scene without a lot of success. The songwriting isn't as sharp as it once was, the production is weak, and the performance just seems sort of lazy. Really disappointing coming after "Who Made Who" (which was a pretty great song).

At least they came back with "Razor's Edge," which, while not a classic in the BiB sense, sounded like they regrouped and got back to their old sound.

Best: High Voltage

Worst: I dunno; something 90's.

my favorite one is probably Highway To Hell

they don't have a bad album if you ask me, I'm looking forward to picking up some of those remasters that I don't got on cd from vinyl yet, but the one I was less impressed with was probably Ballbreaker.

I've always had a soft spot for Flick of the Switch, since it was the first AC/DC album I ever bought. DDDDC is my fave from the Bon Scott era. The 74 Jailbreak EP is impressive too.

As for worst, Blow Up Your Video and Heatseeker are weak. I really hated that Money Talks song from Razor's Edge, so that gets my vote for worst.

Favorite would be Back in Black, then Highway to Hell.

Least: would have to be something after For Those About to Rock since I've never heard any of them.

Best: Powerage
Worst: Toss-up between Fly on the Wall and Flick of the Switch.

I prefer Powerage, High Voltage and Dirty Deeds. I can't stand anything they made after Bon Scott died.

Though I also really like the live album of theirs I have (can't remember the name, but it has Whole Lotta Rosie on it).
