Super Furry Animals - 2003 Album
Hooray! The new album is slated for a July UK release, have yet to hear if and when the US edition will follow, hopefully not as long as "Rings" which was almost a full year later. The extra surprise is that like "Rings Around the World" a full length DVD will also be simultaneously released along with the album

I see that the "Golden Retreiver" song is obviousily going to get included on this release since I first heard this at their Baltimore show last spring, but wasn't played at the Fall 9:30 Club performance. The latter performance was even better with the band playing and exiting on a thunderous 'new' song that propelled the show as my all time favourite.

DVD Talk Platinum Edition
Excellent news. I thought Rings Around the World was delayed because they were looking for a new US record label. They shouldn't have the problem this time...

I was reading the album details over on pitchfork and they state:
"Phantom Power will be available in both the standard plastic disc with mere 5.1 stereo surround sound and as a DVD, thereby creating a new basis for division of social classes, as foretold by Marx"
http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/news/03-03/27.shtml
okay... what the hell does this mean? Domestically, the DVD for "Rings" was the only way to hear the songs in 5.1. On at least one of the import DVD singles had the video in 5.1 DD sound. I personally think someone over at Pitchfork has their info slightly askew. The only way this statement would make sense if the CD version were to be released as a SACD Hybrid disc, a DTS 'audio-disc' or as a DVD-Audio title. Anyway, just the mere mention of a new news revolving around the upcoming SFA album gets me exciting, so if anyone has any ideas what the aforementioned statement really means, please chime in.
