since i was born in 1976, there are just way too many to name, but for some reason, today, Picnic at Hanging Rock was the first one that popped into my head, and that was made in 1975.

Let's see, I was born in '63, so I'm gonna have to go with The Maltese Falcon, but I'm also quite fond of Seven Samurai, She Wore a Yellow Ribbon, and Bicycle Thieves, just to name three more.

I know you're joking, but sadly enough it seems as if a lot of people around here genuinely have that attitude...

Not that I'm exactly cultured on pre-1980s cinema, but that one stands out.

Jaws was made five years before I was born. It's definately in my top 5 of all time.

The first thing to pop into my mind is "anything by the Marx brothers." Being born in mid 1930s....kinda hard to pick...
Actually, no being born in 1972, there's not a whole lot that I've seen before my birth..or rather, that were made before my birth. My favorite movie that I recall before my birth would be the walls of the womb.
I just did a blind purchase recently of the Akira Kurosawa box set from Criterion....so I'm hoping to add these movies to my list of favorite movies made before I arrived on this planet...I mean before I was "born".

Hmm...
Blazing Saddles
Citizen Kane
Dr. Strangelove
It's A Wonderful Life
Mr Smith Goes to Washington
Monty Python and The Holy Grail (Life of Brian is not bad, either)
Rear Window
Snow White + Seven Dwarfs (One of the few disney animated titles I will ever purchase)
Vertigo (One of the best movies ever made - I cannot believe that most reviews of that era thought this film was bad!)
Alien
Ben-Hur
Casablanca
I'm sure there are others but I'm just looking at my DVD collection right now...
