Run Lola Run - Discussion

I just saw this last night. It was simply fascinating. Anyone who hasn't seen it owes it to themselves to do so.

I never saw this film, yet I heard lots of good thing about it on this board. Is this a good blind buy?

Definitely a good blind buy, with lots of great extras. If you like Run Lola Run, check out The Princess & The Warrior also starring Franka Potente and also directed by Tom Tykwer.

Agree that it is a great blind purchase.

And I actually enjoyed the (brief) animation segments.

I'd say no to blind buying it...it was alright, but didn't knock my socks off.

'Course i saw the crappy Canadian pan and scam release, so maybe thats why

Great little movie. I wanted to see it when it was in the theater but never got a chance. Bought the DVD and I'm glad I did.

Also thought it was fantastic and bought it after a Netflix rental. It is especially cool that it contains an optional English soundtrack. I wanted to lend it to my parents who HATE reading subtitles.

Great flick though!
Spoiler:
A much more interesting and artistic take on the "Groundhog Day" concept.

It's relatively cheap, too, so I say affirmative to the blind buy quesiton, as well.

Till again.

I liked Run Lola Run, but I didn't care for The Princess & The Warrior.

For more casual, "popcorn", fare, try Anatomie. The darkly sexy and tough Franka takes a turn in a schlocky slasher flick. You must watch it in German!

Agreed--I actually watched this twice in 24 hours...once Friday night by myself from Netflix, then Sat night I made the missus watch it. I don't think I've ever done that before [watched a movie twice, wanting to, in that short a period of time.] Exciting, awesome sound, and in German, which I like.
Princess and the Warrior was--interesting. Treads lightly on some of the same concepts, but I didn't like it as much [although I still liked Fraulein Potente in it.] It was definitely much slower, although that's not saying much when comparing it to RLR.

I liked the movie as well, although I rented it first from Netflix instead of a blind buy. After watching it, I didn't hesitate to just bought the DVD right away.

One of which is the director of the film.

I just saw this film for the first time today, in an english class no less.

It was excellent and everyone was into it.

I loved the different perspectives.

I will have to buy the dvd, because the Prof had us watch a Cinemax recorded version of the film,

I finally saw this masterpiece last weekend(on VHS) Anyway it so rocked!! My friends had been telling me this was great and it was. Usually i find it hard to watch subtitled movies, but now i have a new respect for foreign flicks.
