Kingdom Of The Spiders or Eight Legged Freaks?
just saw KOTS last night, and i have to say i was pretty impressed. i was surprised at how well executed it was (from a story stand-point).
sure there were some cheesy, sometimes laughable b-movie elements, but it departed more from the jaws template than most of the films of this ilk i've seen.
even Shatner was fun to watch, and not so over the top.
just wondering how 8 Legged Freaks stacks up- not neccesarily to this, but to the genre in general (which i guess goes back to Them and Tarantula?).
the biggest complaint i've heard about it is that, whatever you expect to happen does- exactly as you expected it.
is it worth a blind purchase?
one of the qualities i liked about KOTS was that i really didn't know where the film was going.
may not be a classic, but i thought it was very effective.
definitely worth the $8

Kingdom Of The Spiders is one of the all-time great B-Movies, IMO. It's one of those films you can catch 100 times on Saturday afternoon TV and you stop and watch it again and still like it.
I saw a little bit of 8 Legged Freaks on New Year's Eve, but didn't watch the whole movie, not to mention the party going on. What I saw of it was quite dull and formulaic, and we turned it off after 15 or 20 minutes to find something else.

Haven't seen Kingdom of the Spiders, but I actually loved Eight Legged Freaks. Thought it was going to be bad and I thought it was some cheesey fun. Some funny stuff and I would easily recommend it.
