Finally got to see it yesterday...

I must say, I thought LOTR was a great movie, but had no desire to see it more than once at this point in time. I bought the EE, but haven't yet watched it.

TTT was, IMHO, a far more entertaining movie. I'm already trying to make plans to go see it again. It was just THAT good.

Jackson hasn't stayed true to the books 100% ,
Spoiler:
Since the Elves weren't at Helms Deep in the book
but I can't complain too much. Artistic license

I'll be anxiously awaiting my chance to give Peter Jackson another $70 of my dollars for BOTH DVD editions

Try 72%.

But it's a film not a big-arse book so he has to make choices.

So far his choices are mostly OK by me.

Responce to the Spoiler
Spoiler:
Apparently what Jackson was going for was a compression of events in the Appendix. Michael Martinez had this to say:"As I watched the Elves march into the fortress, it occurred to me that by showing the Elves standing side-by-side with Men, Peter Jackson was including some of the backstory which Tolkien had to relegate to the appendix. You don't learn until you get to the appendix that the Elves of Lothlorien actually fight several battles in the War of the Ring (and they bring down Dol Guldur, a fortress about as strategically important as Isengard)."Suite 101

I have no problem with that, I'm just saying that if you only read the book....

Anyway, still a great flick
