I think the only reason I could think of is so that
Or they just need a way to get Saul involved, cuz "Ocean's 10" doesn't sound NEARLY as cool

Yeah, I thought the Chinese acrobat guy set charges that were in Saul's case and Danny and Linus had the thing that discharged them. But I could be remembering it wrong.

Not to crap on this thread, but here is a plot question of mine. At the beginning of the film when Danny Ocean is recruiting Brad Pitt's character, he says that the plan is to rob 3 Vegas casinos.

there are just too many details that aren't quite explained fully that the movie gets a little confusing. and like i said before i can't look at my copy at the moment so i'm just going by what i've caught on hbo the last couple of days.

I thought it was obvious the "gems" were the explosives.
Now, what I didn't understand was why they couldn't just put the gems in the cart with the guy. The only thing I could think of was that it gave them some nessessary distractions when he collapsed and when they hauled him out.
Misdirection. Keep the attention focused on something else so that no one notices what you're doing.

There is going to be an Oceans Eleven 2, all of the main actors have signed on which lets them rob either another casino/place with money or for them to rob the other 2 casinos owned by Terry Benedict. This was suprisingly one of the best films of 2001.

here's something i could never understand, no matter how many times i've watched it....
how did those fliers get into the vault? i can see how the SWAT team may have brought them in and swapped them with the money, but how did that initial batch get in there? the ones that were loaded onto the robot-controlled van before the SWAT team ever came? i didn't see clooney, damon, or the chinese guy carry any bags filled with fliers.

question about Ocean's Eleven (2001)
am i mistaken in thinking that when an actor makes an uncredited but substantive appearance, they usually are credited in the end?
i ask because, as i just finished watching Soderbergh's Ocean's Eleven again, i noticed that Don Cheadle was uncredited in the beginning, in the end, and on the box cover. considering the size of his part in the film, i would think that he would at least receive some acknowledgment in the final credits...
am i wrong? anybody know why Cheadle opted/went for an uncredited appearance?
thanks!

I had heard something to the effect that it had a lot to do with who got top billing. There were plenty of great actors in the film and I'm assuming Don Cheadle wanted to be billed ahead of some of them but wasn't going to be, so he opted not to take a credit. That's just what I heard, mind you, so don't take it as gospel.

I remember seeing something on this movie (20/20 or one of those shows) that he wasn't particularly thrilled with it (the movie) and that he was ultimately pissed off that he was working so cheap.
Boo Hoo... I feel really bad for him.
