The year has officially ended and the horror outlook in 2003 looks to be an interesting, if not promising, one. For now though, let’s take a gander at the results of our 2002 Creature Corner Reader’s Poll where we gave you a chance to choose the best and the worst in horror of the past year.
Without a doubt, “The Ring” was a definite champ, sweeping 5 out of the 13 categories we posed to you. Despite the heated debates the film has caused on our message boards, there was no doubt a lot of you really dug this American retread of the classic Japanese film.
BEST HORROR FILM OF ‘02
THE RING (with 46% of the votes)
Runners Up: FRAILTY and DAGON were tied for second each with 10% of the votes; BLADE 2 took third place with 7% of the votes
WORST HORROR FILM OF ’02
FEAR DOT COM (with 26% of the votes)
Runners Up: HALLOWEEN – RESURRECTION crawled to second with 23% of the votes; and GHOST SHIP and JASON X grappled for third each with 11% of the votes
SCARIEST SCENE OF ’02
The conclusion of “THE RING” (44% of the votes)
