"We Were Soldiers" Plot/Dialogue Question (SPOILERS?!)
Ok, I'm confused... or I think I missed something... either way...
(spoilers: ? )
When the squad that was cut off early on gets rescued, and they're all sitting around the termite hill all bummed and depressed... Sgt Major Plumley (Sam Elliot) walks up to the Sgt. that was recovered and says something like "This is the last night you'll be Sgt." or something like that....
I don't get it...... ?

"Today is a good day Sgt." or something like that.
That one?
He's the guy who kept telling the Sgt. Major "It's a nice day today" back when they were home and the Sgt. Major would pretty much tell him to F' off or something like that.
