What's the best, or, your favorite version of A Christmas Carol?

There have been so many versions of this Dickens classic done over the years.
Which is your favorite?

Last night we watched the 1938 version with Reginald Owen as Scrooge.
I've always liked this one the most of all.

My favorite version is "Scrooged", although "The Muppet Christmas Carol" is my favorite version which is faithful to the original text. I can never tire of seeing these two.

Honestly, both reading Dickens and watching fairly faithfully adapted film versions of Dickens stories tend to put me to sleep.

As such, I would say Scrooged.

I'll second that. I saw that movie for the first time just this week, and I absolutely loved it.

My favorite is probably Scrooge (1970), the musical version with Albert Finney. Now, if only they'd release it on DVD...

Was on last night. The best adapation ever. Sim does a great job, and the b*w look with the age in the print gives it that "classic" feel.

Scrooge and Muppet Christmas Carol are my two choices.

Scrooge is great because it would be on TV every year Christmas day, I couldn't help but to watch it and it grew on me.

Hands down The Muppets. Nothing else comes close. Although Scrooged was entertaining as well.
