got a great voice and doesnt try to be like a total whore (britney and christina come to mind). i am defently getting the cd when it comes out in 2003 and going to either tape the "moment like this" song off the radio (i know) or try to find the mp3 for free.

She has a very good voice and is a natural singer. Her "talent" will be maintaining her own image and not becoming a corporate slave like the other singers in her "genre". Due to her just being a vocalist she is unfortunately poised to be another coporate clone with a team of writers churning out crappy songs like "A Moment Like This". She sounds great on that song but it is on of the worst songs ever written. Un-inspired, un-original, useless drivel.

My gut feeling is her vocal talents will go to waste in the desolate wasteland that is pop music.

Kelly seems like a nice girl, but that is quite possibly the worst song I've heard since Whitney Houston's song in the 80's about children.

....Seriously, though, I just can't stand the entire Mariah/Whitney/Aguilera style of wrenching every possible iota of synthetic, over-produced emotion out of crappy love songs. I cannot fathom why people watched 20 zillion crappy singers in the same exact painful quasi-R&B style on "American Idol," and it means nothing to me. And I'm pretty happy my tastes are that way.

The song is very generic. I get the feeling I heard CelineWhitneyMariah AguileraDionHoustonCarey sing that song many, many times in the past. Usually while I'm getting my teeth drilled. Needless to say, the song illicits some rather painful memories.

Unfortunately you are not the only one who likes that song. Enough people have bought the damn thing and there lies the problem. If enough idiots are fooled into buying garbage music like this it only perpetuates the creation of more of it. It's bad enough crappy pop music and crappy rock music dominate the airwaves and only leads to more because of brain-dead people. There is no soul, no heart in that music and I guess that is what people want...nothing that challenges their mind.

Maybe...just maybe if Kelly had released that single and it totally bombed the record execs would have stopped and said "well they loved her enough to vote her winner but they hate the music...hmmm...why don't we do something worth while then with her talents" Yeah right, who am I kidding? Everyone fell for it, duped, cheated and swindled. Sheep...I tell you...sheep.

That song is the official soundtrack of Hell's waiting room. Overdone, syllable-stretching vocal gymnastics may make one a million selling "diva" to the great unwashed, but it's a far cry from true soul and talent like an Aretha Franklin. The only consolation of her winning was that we have not been subjected to similar pablum from that Sideshow Bob freak who was runner up.

Why is it garbage music. She has a great voice. Chill.

It's a problem when you are sitting in a restaurant and trying to enjoy your meal and this song comes on and your mood turns foul. That's one example.

I think Kelly has amazing talent, but I agree with the rest that the song sucks.

However, I don't see a problem with people buying it. Who cares? I buy and listen to what I want to listen to. I don't give a crap if a billion people buy Kelly's CD.

However, I do wish that her talent was used better instead of singing generic pop songs.

also to show in all of your opinions at least, there are a bunch of idiots in york pa who have decided to "dedicate" the moment like this song to their boyfriends and girlfriends so many still like the song.

Like it or not, it's been a #1 single. Kelly can sing but I don't care for the song.
