Just checked out Overstock and saw that they'd added more than 2,000 new CDs... no idea whether there's anything worthwhile there, though...

Most of the postings are around $8-$9 (or 25%-50% off, depending on the MSRP). Something for everybody, literally. Let's see, in terms of stuff that might interest people here... some Pearl Jam live concerts, limited edition of R.E.M.'s "Reveal", some limited editions of Pet Shop Boys albums, 50% off on box sets (including the Magnetic Fields' "69 Love Songs" and some $100 CCR box set)., couple Hives albums -- really, everything from soup to nuts.

I ended up getting the Magnetic Fields set (figure that even if I hate it, I can recoup my money by selling it used), Bebel Gilberto's "Tanto Tempo" (can finally return that other copy to the library), and a Gabby Pahinui album (Hawaiian slack key guitarist).

Just checked, and they seem to have added maybe 300 more CDs. Again, a broad range of stuff, from singles to box sets, mostly at 50% off, not enough for impulse buys, but enough, perhaps, for stuff you're unlikely to see on sale. For example, if the Gourds' "Shinebox" had been on sale for $4.99 instead of $8.49, I might've purchased it, but, at the higher price...

Random observation based on looking through those Overstock listings: there are a lot -- a lot -- of tribute albums made every year. And apparently they all sell like cr*p.

That 2-disc Love collection I've had my eye on... the remaster of Van Halen's Women & Children First... the deluxe edition of Mingus' Ahhh Ummm... a classic Camper Van Beethoven album.

I guess I ought to look on Overstock's CD page more often!
