Chevelle "Wonder What's Next"
Anyone else pic this up today? Damn good disc. It's only $5.99 for the rest of this week. Definately worth the price.

I picked it up but I haven't listened to it yet.
For the price, I can basically get that same amount back
if I sell it to a used CD store.
the first single "The Red" is pretty cool though

I was surprised at how good it was. Its not quite as heavy as their first CD. They kind of went in a different direction. The production alone is miles ahead of their last effort. And I think its better overall.

Actually, I'm glad to hear the direction is not as heavy. I'm not a fan of metal, and while I wouldn't call Chevelle metal, I wish it had been a bit more fleshed out (and at times less Nirvana leeching). At the risk of ticking off people, I am NOT a fan of Steve Albini's production work. Did Chevelle use a different producer for the new one?

Hmmm... I was a huge fan of the sound on Point #1. I'm a little worried that they've gone too soft, but we'll see.
For $5.99 you can't go too far wrong. Thanks for pointing out the price on this one.

I haven't heard anything besides seeing the video they've got out. Sounds like it should be promising stuff. I, by the way, love Albini...his work with Roadside Monument was what made them a worthwhile band.
